The singer, who married former Press Association journalist Nick Sommerlad last year, said she had agreed with her record company that she would go semi-nude on the front sleeve of her newly released album of traditional Irish songs, Sean Nos Nua.

But she said she had to ditch the raunchy shots when her husband saw them and was unhappy with them.

"I tried to take my clothes off actually. It was going to be a sort of semi-nude picture on the cover but my husband didn't like it," she told the Gerry Ryan show on 2FM.

"You couldn't actually see anything, but he said: 'I'm leaving you if you put that on the album cover'."
