By Tom;
Excellent performance! Her vocal range was a little limited for the first couple of
songs, but once she warmed up, she was amazing. Some brief highlights:
Dreaming Bones - this version was light years better than the Letterman one, and the
audience seemed to gasp in unison when it finished.
Nothing Compares 2 U - Although this is not one of my favorite songs, this version was a
keeper. She played it straight, sang it slowly and with deep feeling.
In This Heart - I don't want to spoil the surprise, but the band has a very effective way
of joining her on back-up vocals.
Fire On Babylon - WOW!
He moved through the fair - Chilling
One humorous anecdote. Paddy Maloney introduced Sinead, but she was late coming out. When
she finally arrived, she apologized saying she didn't expect to get introduced and she was
"taking a leak." This seemed to set the tone for the performance of Foggy Dew,
which had a couple of musical miscues by the Chieftains and a false start by Sinead. Lots
of smiles and laughing throughout.
My regards and envy for those about to see her,
